LOCAL NON-PROFIT PROVIDES ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO FOSTER CHILDREN

Macomb Foster Closet is a 100 percent volunteer-ran nonprofit organization that provides needed clothing and other essential items to children in the foster care system and their families.

Macomb Foster Closet is always looking for donations and volunteers. These donations and volunteers help Macomb Foster Closet continue its mission of providing the items needed to succeed to children who do not often have a high chance of success.

Macomb Foster Closet board member, Cheryl Duncan, said, “We strive to provide these children with a sense of dignity that they normally would not receive due to the limited amount of money foster families receive from the state.” 

Items that can be donated include new or gently used clothing of all sizes, essential hygiene items, baby supplies such as diapers, recreational items, and gift cards geared toward teens. To donate, people can sign up using the link provided on the Macomb Foster Closet website or contact Macomb Foster Closet via email or by messaging them on Facebook.

Macomb Foster Closet is also looking for volunteers. To volunteer, sign up for one of Macomb Foster Closets volunteer orientations on their website.
